Sold Beautiful sideboard or also called combi furniture by Louis van Teeffelen. Van Teeffelen is known for his furniture designs for furniture manufacturer Walraven and Bevers, later called Wébé.
From 1955 to 1967, Van Teeffelen is the chief designer of Wébé, a period in which high-quality furniture was designed. This sideboard is combination furniture number 109, made of teak from West Africa.
On the doors we see 4 small ceramic tiles with an image of sailing ships, these were designed by potter Jaap Ravelli. Van Teeffelen entered into a collaboration with Jaap Ravelli in 1960 to 1965, a period in which his furniture acquired a Japanese look and feel. This mid-century cabinet, this sideboard fits well in a classic but also in a modern vintage interior.
The sideboard by Louis van Teeffelen has a flap compartment on the left with two small drawers for paper behind it, underneath an open compartment, next to it a compartment with a green glass plate and a compartment with a black glass plate below, this is not shown, of course. it will come with the purchase of the sideboard. Below the flap compartment we see an open compartment for, for example, a number of reading or interior books! In the left corner of the inside of the lid compartment is a very small damage, see the extra photos. On the right side two doors with the Ravelli tiles on them, behind the doors two shelves. under the open compartment and the doors we see 4 drawers with the so-called smiley handles, very typical for Louis van Teeffelen.
A beautiful organically shaped design quality sideboard from Dutch designer Louis van Teeffelen, the combi furniture is in very good condition.
