Sold Jie design, wall plaque in brown with flowers, retro

Sold A super nice wall plaque from Sweden by Jie Design. The wall plaque is marked on the back. Jie Ceramics was founded in 1942 by John Ewert Jie Johnson. In 1944 the company moved due to rapid growth. At first they mainly produced household objects. They stopped this production in the mid-1960s and focused on decorative objects. This turned out to be a good move. By hiring different designers, new designs were continually created and launched successfully. The curtain finally fell in 1992, after their 50th anniversary. Production has now been taken over by a company in Portugal.

Nice to know the story behind the product. The JIE design wall plaque is in good condition and will hang beautifully in the hall or living room. The basic color is matte brown with glazed flowers and leaves in beige, soft yellow and pale blue/green.
