Jasba horse head, vintage
A Jema horse head, in beautiful condition. The vintage horse head is from the 1950s/60s and was made by JEMA ceramic studio in Maastricht. The company was founded in 1942 and in 1955 the trade name became JEMA, derived from Jelis Mager. JEMA was a real family business, this was evident from the takeovers; it was always family members who took over. They have become known for their birds, fish and dog bells with an animal on either side of the bell. They also became famous for the Delft vases that were made in Belgium and then painted with flowers by JEMA. The curtain fell on this company in 1984. For the horse lover or for a child or grandchild who loves horses. The vintage horse head is marked on the back.
