Rinsche apple syrup tin from J.F. Balbets, vintage
A red Rinsche apple syrup tin issued by Firma J.F. Balussen, founded in 1888! The content was 800 grams, everything was eaten. Nice tin for the collector, this apple syrup has been awarded several times, which is why you also see the medals depicted on the tin. The vintage tin is somewhat battered, the company was founded in 1868, this Rinsche apple syrup tin is from the period around 1910,1920. Nice to know that this is the oldest existing canning factory in the Netherlands, during the Second World War the factory was completely destroyed. After the war, they were able to restart the factory with the help of other factories. Since the 1950s, the company Baltus switched to vegetable preserves because the demand for apple syrup was decreasing. In 1999 the last Baltus left and the company is now run by Ruben Bringsken. Pretty nice to know!
